OFF-ROAD
Nature & Hightech
We plan and build entire off-road areas. By this we mean, on the one hand, the design of the natural environment – one could call it the
call it "Design by Caterpillar". On the other hand, the equipment with our high-tech constructions.
We are always able to think for both types of vehicles: for real off-roaders but also for the common SUVs. The latter should also be fun to drive or test in such terrain. And something else is important: Our applications are – as always – easy and intuitive to use, even for non-specialist staff.
On this page you can see all our off-road highlights described: The waterfall, the wading pool as well as our roller coaster.
TERRAIN DESIGN
Off-road for testing & fun.
It’s about the appropriate design of an off-road area, also in relation to the rest of the facility. What is the right size? What should the topography look like in the end? Where are which hills with how many and how steep ascents and descents? Are there camel humps, an obstacle course and an inclined driving and entanglement segment?
In addition to these more natural areas, our focus is of course on technical constructions, which are designed, for example, to test entire vehicles, their drive and assistance systems or even the tyres. What is needed depends entirely on our clients: From the car industry to the automobile club. You can find more info at the bottom of this page.
We have developed a modular construction kit that can divide a terrain into several zones: Easy round trips for SUV’s or difficult mountain passages for real off-road vehicles. Tracks for skill or to showcase vehicle technology. Elements to push the vehicles to the (sloping) limits or areas with a romantic campfire ambience.
By the way: In addition to holistic off-road projects, we also supply "only" individual elements on request, e.g. for trade fairs or for temporarily planned areas.
WATERFALL
No one will forget that.
We upgrade a "normal" but steep mountain to an artificial waterfall. To do this, we place rocks of different sizes along the entire length in a concrete foundation and also install a watercourse system. The vehicles therefore either travel downwards with the water or upwards against the current. An unusual visual spectacle that the riders will not soon forget.
And don’t worry: if nothing to the contrary is desired, we design our waterfall in such a way that a short rider training is already enough to master this passage safely and without damage.
As is customary for us, we do not waste any unnecessary resources here either, but recapture the water in a recirculation system.
WADE BASIN
Like a real river.
How to introduce: A wading basin to simulate crossing a real stream bed!
The bottom of the pool is hydraulically height-adjustable for several sectors at the touch of a button to cater for different vehicles quite individually. The fast and precise height adjustment is only one parameter, a second one is also located below the water surface: They are bolted obstacles as a simulation of tree trunks that one normally has to overcome in a stream bed as well.
Other technical features:Water nozzles are built into the upper part of the cage-like construction to create realistic rain conditions – this is particularly relevant for vehicle tests.
And another highlight: The wave!
At the push of a button, we produce a gigantic wave that completely engulfs the car and will give the driver an adrenaline rush.
ROLLER PATH
Endless spin.
With our roller track, we can perfectly demonstrate off-road assistance systems such as differential lock, traction control, drive-slip regulation or a differential brake.
For this we have a two-lane approx. 20-metre-long track built, with free-running rollers. If a vehicle is now standing on these rollers, no propulsion would be possible; even with all-wheel drive, all wheels would spin. For several areas of the tracks, there are now fixable floor plates on which one, two or three wheels can have traction.
The track can even be adjusted in height at four points to simulate a gradientor even an entanglement. And even the track width can be adjusted in just a few steps. The roller conveyor is therefore a valuable tool for (finally) making the technical principles of the above-mentioned assistance systems comprehensible in training courses.
